Finding the right gear to keep your pack weight down requires some trial and error. You have to know what your preferences are and use gear that suits your needs. What does that mean exactly? Let me give you and example, say after a long day on the trail you like to treat yourself to a well prepared meal in the woods, you are likely to carry some sort of pan and perhaps a pocket rocket and fuel can. Maybe a good cup of coffee when you wake up in the morning is your glamping item. Sometimes you don't really know what you want until you get out there and explore.
I have found that I like to carry rehydratable meals that only require me to boil water, but I do like to brew a good strong cup of coffee in the morning. My camp kitchen is catered to my needs and the items I have chosen all serve more than 1 purpose. This took some trial and error, you never can tell how you will feel after a 17 mile hike on the Appalachian Trail only to spend 45 minutes to an hour preparing dinner before you hunker down for a good nights rest.
In the video I highlighted my camp kitchen just to give you an idea. I would love to hear what you carry or recommendations you have for me to try out. Please comment below and thanks again for watching my video.
